Members of FACTA (Florida Association of College Test Administrators), working closely with McCann Associates (Vantage Learning) have introduced a certification for testing and assessment personnel. The exam, named the Testing and Assessment Personnel Certification is commonly referred to as the TAP-C. The level I TAP-C is the first level in a series of five planned assessments and is designed to measure the skills needed statewide by entry-level employees working in testing and assessment. Future levels will address best practice standards for proctors, examiners, and assessment managers/directors. The certification is intended to provide recognition, competency, and a commitment in the testing and assessment profession across institutions.

The TAP-C Working Group will present the progress of the initiative at the upcoming NCTA (National College Testing Association) conference on September 7, 2018.
